Last Friday 6th March 2009, it was our 1st to attend a Local (UAE) wedding. It was held in a hotel, in 2 different function halls, 1 hall exclusively for ladies which includes the bride and the other hall for gents which includes the groom. Surprisingly, the bride and groom doesn’t share the same hall, as tradition they will only be seen together during the send off or while introducing the groom to the guests. It was totally extreme from the traditional weddings that I have attended and I am glad I was able to experience a different one.
I am happy to tell that we were warmly welcomed by the family of the bride even though I was dressed like I am just going for a dinner date. I was stunned to see that all guests are well dressed, when I say well dressed, they are wearing pretty gowns that match their lovely make-ups and hairdos and that made me feel as if I was in the red carpet of Oscars. I had no photos to show because it’s not allowed and with due respect to the family we have to abide the rules of their tradition.
It was a great experience though we didn’t stay that long.
This is the only photo that I could share (Before going to the wedding party)
