It refers to the dialogue in the "Desperate Housewives" TV show that depicts Susan, the character of Teri Hatcher, telling her gynecologist that "before we go any further, can i check those diplomas because I would just like to make sure that they're not from some med school in the Philippines".The letter asks the network to issue a public apology to Filipino-American groups now raising their voices in protest.
Even though this show is doing really good and having the best rating in the U.S. it doesn't mean that they can do such thing... It'll surely raised the eyebrows of each Filipino upon hearing those lines coming from a famous and globally aired TV show. lah, they have to apologize for this racist slur...
Better yet, they should edit that particular episode...
Should i continue watching this kind TV show?...
