This is actually an overdue blog...
I'm suppose to post this last September but was not able to do so...
He's my dad's half brother...
It's been a long time (like a decade ago) since the last time my dad saw him, it came to be a surprise when my dad saw the news on TV...
We've been to Laguna long time back, that was the time when my grandfather (dad's father) passed away... And that seems to be a reunion because after ages they've finally meet again...
To our dearest uncle,
May your soul rest in peace
And may the culprits get what they deserve
May justice prevail...

A Filipino working as a cook in Saudi Arabia was stabbed to death, possibly by another Filipino, purportedly over money. Manuelito Ocreto planned to visit his family before Christmas, but after succumbing to three stab wounds on her chest and another on his back, he would be coming home in a box.
.
QTV Balitanghali reported on Monday that Ocreto’s family raised strong suspicion he was killed over money he had lent out but could not collect from fellow Filipinos. The family is appealing for help in seeking justice for Ocreto. Before his death, Ocreto was employed as a cook at Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense and Aviation. He has been working in the kingdom for 22 years.Saudi police has invited seven Filipinos for questioning on Ocreto’s death. An OFW in Saudi sent word to GMANews.TV through his wife that the Saudi police tortured the Filipinos picked up as suspects in the killing of Ocreto.
.
The OFW, who requested anonymity, called on the DFA, the Department of Labor and Employment and its extension offices in Saudi Arabia to assist the Filipinos and make sure that those picked up for questioning are not physically abused in the course of identifying Ocreto's killer. It was learned that Ocreto’s family received a call on September 11 from Saudi officials, giving initial information that the OFW died of heart attack. Two days later, the family received another call, saying that Ocreto was killed.
.
The family has identified a certain Rommel Alcayde, who has not been interrogated by the police, as a possible suspect. On Sept. 7, Ocreto called his wife and told her that he had difficulty collecting the P300,000 borrowed by Alcayde, a fellow OFW from Batangas. Ocreto purportedly told his wife that Alcayde also often taunted him.GMANews.TV called the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Public Information Services Unit for further information on the incident but was told that the office has yet to receive official report about it.
.
Meantime, Ocreto’s family is calling on government agencies for assistance in the immediate repatriation of the remains of the OFW. The family received word from Saudi that it would take two to three more weeks to send Ocreto’s remains to Manila because of observance of the Ramadan in Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia. - Mark J.
