European Tour - Part 2 (Cologne - Rhineland, Germany)

And now we’re heading to Germany, yey!!! We traveled by land with our convenient coach COSMOS with Mr. Pascal our French driver and of course our friendly tour guide for the entire trip Mr. Erik Bleeker, he’s a Dutch… Erik is a cool guy who never fails to crack a joke in between talks even if it sounds a little corny though, but hey, that’s what I miss about him…

Meet Erik
.
Anyways, travel time from Amsterdam to Cologne Germany is roughly 4 hours and that includes the stop over for short breaks for snack and a little stretching… By 6pm we reached Kolner Dom or the Cologne Cathedral, upon seeing it, I can’t take my eyes off it because the structure of the old cathedral is really breath taking… I can’t imagine how they preserve such a beautiful site, the construction of the cathedral took ages, literally centuries before they finish a beautiful master piece, as a matter of fact until now they are doing rectifications outside the cathedral…

After our short visit to the cathedral, we head off to Holiday Inn, our hotel for the night… Had our sumptuous dinner and then doze to sleep to prepare ourselves for an early morning adventure, the Rhine Cruise… It was cold in Germany and if I can recall it correctly it’s about -2 degrees at 8:00 in the morning, damn coldness… At roughly 8.15 am we board the boat/yacht for the Rhine Cruise, the sight is brilliantly awesome… While on the cruise you’ll see castles on top of the hills, beautiful houses right next to the river, plus the beauty of the greeneries, wow such pleasant sight…

And then off we go to visit the cuckoo clock store and of course it’s time for souvenir shopping as well… We only spent half of the day to tour Germany for we have to head on to our next destination…

.

That’s our short but memorable stay in Germany…

Stay tuned for our European Tour - Part 3…
